    Works in tech as a Sr. DevOps Engineer. Drives Uber as a second job. He also ran as an Independent for city council district 2 in the 2022 election.

    Kate:

    Worked for various democratic organizations until she became a member of the city council from 2014-2018. She was elected Mayor of Phoenix in 2019, and re-elected as Mayor in 2020. She’s the current mayor of Phoenix.

  • Matt:

    Believes we’re at a crossroads and wants the city to focus on rehabilitation and mental health, not just providing housing. Also wants to implement a work program instead of just providing shelter. Believes fentanyl is the primary cause to the current homelessness crisis. Wants to enforce our laws and cleanup our streets. Advocates for the working class residents fed up with crime rates and dirty neighborhoods, “There’s nothing wrong with wanting to live in a safe and clean neighborhood”, Matt Evans said.

    Kate:

    Doesn’t support enforcement for local laws around homeless encampments. Advocates for homeless rights “HOMELESSNESS WILL NOT BE CRIMINALIZED ”. Believes affordable housing is the root cause to homelessness, “Housing is the solution to homelessness”, Gallego said.

  • Matt:

    Grassroots campaign - doesn't accept money from political action committees, special interests, out-of-state developers, or billionaires. Matt said, "If I'm elected Mayor, there won't be a single penny influencing the decisions I make!"

    Kate:

    Accepts money from political action committees, special interests, out-of-state developers, and influential billionaires such as Chicago Bulls and Chicago White Sox owner Jerry Reinsdorf.

  • Matt:

    As a native of Phoenix ,Matt believes in securing our borders and aggressively combating the fentanyl distribution chain from China and Mexico. Supports immigration if done the legal way.

    Kate:

    Has never commented publicly on her stance, but she has endorsed her ex-husband Ruben Gallego for Senator, who has said, “ that the border wall is a "scam" and "a waste of money." He's also called it a "symbol of racism" aimed at Mexicans.”

    Kate’s team has refused to comment.
